Patch 8.2 - Bunch O' Stuff
Two major updates in one week! A new batch of improvements has arrived, bringing a useful new building tool, Smelter runes, improved quest pinning, more monthly tournaments to compete in, and more.
This update is focused on quality-of-life, progression, and giving players even more systems to engage with throughout the season.
🛠Builder’s Chisel
We’ve added a brand-new utility tool for builders: the Builder’s Chisel.
This tool is designed to make decorative building much smoother by letting you modify supported placed blocks without needing to break and replace them manually over and over again. It is a fast and convenient way to fine-tune details, swap styles, and adjust block variants while building.
The Builder’s Chisel supports several different functions depending on the selected mode:
- Family Cycle – Cycle through matching decorative block variants within the same family
- Axis Rotate – Rotate logs, pillars, and similar blocks
- Strip Toggle – Swap wood and logs between normal and stripped versions
- Wax Toggle – Toggle copper between waxed and unwaxed forms
- Glazed Rotate – Rotate glazed terracotta
Supported families include a wide range of decorative materials such as Stone Bricks, Prismarine, Sandstone, Quartz, Blackstone, Tuff, Deepslate, and many Copper block types including stairs, slabs, doors, trapdoors, grates, and more.

To use it, simply right-click a supported placed block.
You can switch modes by sneaking and left-clicking.
The tool also includes actionbar feedback, sounds, particles, and limited uses, making it a very practical quality-of-life item for builders who want more speed and control while detailing their builds.
Now where do you get your hands on one? Either on the store for $4.99 or inside the /forge building and speaking the Utilitarian NPC. He sells it for only 5 Moonstones!
🔥 New Smelter Runes
The Smelter Job now has its own dedicated rune line.
We’ve added Mundane, Common, Rare, and Epic Smelter Runes, giving Smelters access to their own job-specific rune progression with a Jobs Money boost.
This gives Smelter players their own upgrade path in line with the other jobs, while making it more rewarding to focus on furnace-based progression. You can find them in the Ancient Forge.
📌 Quest Pinning Improvements
We’ve also upgraded the quest pinning system to make it much more reliable and useful.
Pinned quests now properly persist across reconnects and server reboots, so your tracked quests will no longer disappear when you log out or when the server restarts.
Quest pinning is also now synchronized across servers, meaning your pinned quests stay consistent even when moving between different worlds.
On top of that, players can now pin up to 3 quests at the same time instead of being limited to only 1. This makes it much easier to track multiple objectives at once without constantly re-pinning quests.
To support this, the tracker system has been improved so each pinned quest displays more cleanly and consistently, giving a better overall experience when following your quest progress.

🌊 Pond Swimming Lifetime Milestone Rewards
We’ve also added lifetime milestone rewards to the Pond Swimming minigame.
Your total catches in Pond Swimming are now tracked permanently over time, and reaching certain milestones will unlock one-time rewards.
Lifetime catch milestones:
- 250 Catches – $50,000
- 500 Catches – $100,000
- 1,000 Catches – $100,000
- 5,000 Catches – $150,000
- 10,000 Catches – 200 Crowns
Check your progress with /pond catches and the leaderboard with /pond top
All milestone rewards can only be claimed once per player. Happy Swimming!
🆕 New Tournaments Added
With this update, several new tournaments have been added to the rotation, giving you even more ways to compete each month.
🗳️ Top 3 Voters Tournament
Support the server by voting each day and compete for a spot at the top. The three players with the most votes each month will earn special rewards.
This tournament becomes active starting May 1st.
🏰 Dungeon Tournament
Fight your way through MineRaze’s dungeons and earn points by defeating dungeon mobs. The more enemies you slay, the higher you will climb on the monthly leaderboard.
đź‘‘ Fallen Kingdom Tournament
Enter the dangerous Fallen Kingdom and battle its hostile creatures to earn points. Survive the zone, rack up kills, and compete for a top place on the leaderboard.
These tournaments run alongside the existing monthly competitions, giving you even more ways to compete, progress, and earn rewards throughout the season.
🧠Quiz Race Overhaul
We’ve fully reworked the Quiz Race questions.
Instead of mostly generic trivia, Quiz Races are now focused on MineRaze knowledge, with a large pool of 200+ questions based on the server’s systems, commands, features, and wiki information.
This means Quiz Races will now test how well you actually know the server - from towns, archaeology, heirlooms, protections, and crowns, to important commands, gameplay mechanics, and more.
We’ve also heavily increased the amount of questions related to useful practical knowledge that newer players often miss, especially town plot commands and how to add non-residents to plots. The goal is for Quiz Race to not just be something you answer for rewards, but also a way to naturally learn important server features over time.
This should make Quiz Races feel much more relevant, rewarding, and educational for everyone, while also helping players discover systems and commands they may not have known before.
Quiz Races reward the usual $5000, but now also 1 Crown per correct answer.
🔧 Additional Changes
- Added dozens of automatic broadcasts with server tips based on the wiki and gameplay mechanics. An opt-out for this will come later for players with a high in-game rank.
- Fixed Spleef event access so the join window now closes properly once a match begins, preventing players from forcing quick back-to-back rounds during the active event timer (e.g immediate forfeits)
- Spleef now also includes participation rewards, so players who take part in the event can earn rewards even if they do not finish in first, second or third place.
- Added Scute as a possible drop in the Pond Swimming minigame.
- Reduced the price of the Glass Breaker item. It now costs 6 Moonstones instead of 8 Moonstones and 1 Crystal.
- Reduced the price of the Builder’s Book item. It now costs 8 Moonstones instead of 8 Crystals. Its store price has also been reduced by 50%.
- Reduced the price of the Infinite Water Bucket item. It now costs 4 Crystals instead of 1 Ruby and 2 Crystals.
- Reduced the price of all Tilting Plows by 50%.
- Reduced the damage done by Vikings inside the Icemaw Digsite dungeon by roughly 75%.
- If you don't want to vote for keep inventory, or use the keep inventory rune, you can buy the perk on the store now.
Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoy the new additions in this update.
As always, we’ll continue improving MineRaze with new content, balance changes, quality-of-life features, and more systems to explore throughout the season.
See you in-game!
